Esports is one of the fasting growing sectors, with over £3.6 billion invested in the sector in 2018 and £1.6 billion revenue expected in revenue by 2023. With the majority of the revenue to come from sponsorship and advertising, with the rest coming from media rights, publisher fees, tickets, merchandise, digital streaming.

Esports in Sheffield
Sheffield is home to the three dedicated Esports venues and the National Video Game museum. Sheffield Hallam Students Union also has an active Esports society, who compete against other University in major games such as League of Legends, DotA 2, Rocket League, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and Overwatch and work with trusted organisations such as National Student Esports and NUEL.
